What does non-medical care mean?
Our CAREGivers assist with everyday living tasks, including
personal cares, that do not require medical treatment. For
example, we will remind your loved one to take his or her
medication, but cannot administer it. Also, we can assist with
getting the bandage for a wound, but cannot dress a wound. Our
CAREGivers cannot lift a person, but can provide support to a
person in getting in and out of bed, a wheelchair, etc.
-
Why should I pick you over a contract agency to find a CAREGiver for my loved one?
Contract agencies often locate a person to come into the home
without much regard for whether the placement reflects the care
needs and personality of your loved one. Occasionally, there are
even language barriers. Our CAREGivers are well trained, bonded
and insured, and carefully selected to ensure there’s a good
match. We also take care of taxes and Worker’s Compensation,
so you don’t have to. We supervise and monitor our CAREGivers
and clients’ needs from the day the first contact is made. We
take responsibility for finding a replacement if your CAREGiver
is ever unable to fulfill their shift. We protect you and your
CAREGiver.
-
I just need someone for a few hours a week, can I get someone?
Our CAREGivers are available for as little as one hour per week
to 24/7. Also, if your needs change, we can make adjustments as
needed.
-
What if I decide after I’ve signed a service agreement that my loved one needs care more often than I initially signed up
for?
We pride ourselves on our flexibility. Simply contact our office
and we will adjust services as needed, typically very quickly.
We understand needs can change without notice
-
My loved one takes a lot of medicine. Will your CAREGiver be able to give out medicine?
Our CAREGivers are not allowed to administer medicine, but can monitor usage, can provide reminders,
document and will even pick up prescriptions, if needed.
-
I’d like service around the clock. Can I get a CAREGiver 24 hours a day/7 days a week?
Absolutely. We are able to provide care for as many hours as needed.
We select a few loving CAREGivers to rotate shifts to ensure quality one on one attention at all times.
-
How do I know the person who is coming into my home is trustworthy?
Out of 20 CAREGivers interviewed, we may hire one or two. That’s due to our extensive interview
and screening process. Our CAREGivers must have a driver’s license and a clean record, pass an extensive background
check and drug test. In addition, we will bond and insure them and require regular training in eldercare, safety,
personal care and Alzheimer’s care. We want to hire individuals who enjoy caring for seniors.
We provide regular supervisory calls and visits. Many CAREGivers
are seniors themselves!
-
Are your CAREGivers certified?
We do not require any certifications. The quality we most look for is someone who is very caring and trustworthy.
They are required to go through a specialized training program
designed by Home Instead Senior Care.
-
Are you regulated by the state?
Our industry is not yet regulated by the state of Wisconsin. We
do operate as a corporation, with a business license, and we're
a respected member of the Better Business Bureau.
-
What if I don’t like the CAREGiver we’ve been
assigned?
Our goal is to provide the best possible match between CAREGiver and
clients. If the client or family member requests a change for whatever reason, we will work hard to find a CAREGiver that
best meets your or your loved one’s needs as quickly as possible.
-
My mom likes to go shopping and out to lunch, can your CAREGiver take her?
Shopping and mealtime companionship are just a few of the services we provide.
We can shop either with or for our clients. We would strongly encourage your loved one to continue with whatever activity he or she has enjoyed in the past. We know that’s key to a high quality of life.
-
I’m concerned that my loved one isn’t eating well. How can a CAREGiver help?
Mealtime can be an especially lonely time for seniors. Often cooking and shopping are tasks that can become more difficult with physical changes. Poor nutrition can lead to a multitude of health problems. Our CAREGivers are trained to assist with meal planning and preparation. The CAREGiver can shop for or take
you or your loved one shopping, and help him or her make sound nutritious choices. We also provide CAREGivers with healthy recipes to suggest to
our clients. Our CAREGivers are trained in following special diets and monitoring food intake.
-
I’d like to know what my dad does on a daily basis. With a
CAREGiver, will I be able to find out what he does all day long?
Our CAREGivers will provide a daily journal sharing with you information on your loved one’s activities and eating habits. This helps foster good communication to assist us in better serving your loved one.
-
I’m concerned about my loved one being taken advantage of by charities. She writes checks each week. How can a CAREGiver help?
Our CAREGivers can go through the mail with your loved one, and can assist with phone calls. We have even developed a spreadsheet for clients who would like assistance with keeping track of their charitable donations, and help them set up a budget for what’s right for them.

What are your rates? Does insurance cover this service?
We work hard to keep our rates affordable. Some long-term care insurance policies do cover non-medical home care services. We will assist you in finding out if your policy covers our services. Rates vary depending on the number of hours requested.
Please contact us for rate information.
